4: Monitoring Work of Direct Reports

Top-down monitoring systems like tracking everything people do at work are not efficient. They don’t work. However, we still need to collect data to monitor systems. But they should be used to make the invisible things visible and identify problems to solve them. They should not be used to determine what direct reports do or track people’s work.
