One thing I keep thinking about is making sense of the Internet. Everything is mingled and mixed. I’m okay with it being chaotic. I’m not okay with my corner of it contributing to this jungle.
Although a little outside of the context Jim & John talk about in their posts, I’ve long struggled with the newsletter concept being presented as a website (yes, I’m using Substack).
I’m still annoyed by the dickovers, but I’m more annoyed with blog posts being sent as emails. I’m even more annoyed that I’m doing this as well.
You might have noticed that I haven’t sent any emails in the last months. That’s because of exactly this.
John says it well:
A webpage should show the webpage. An email should show the email. I should not have to explain this.
That said, a few changes are coming soon to my corner of the Internet.
